Type of Contract: This is an ongoing contract and applies over a 3 year period.
Location: Lessons are held at Totnes Tutors, Office 15 Blacklers, Park Road, Dartington Hall, Totnes TQ9 or at my/your Home on agreement.
Paid parking is available opposite or in the main carpark across from Dartington Hall. There is also parking available in the overflow car park behind the Green Cafe
Fees:
• £45-£50 per 1 hour lesson (dependent on SEN need)
• Travel time (1-5 miles) £5

• Free Initial Assessment.
• An Individualised Formulation of Needs, (on-going formative assessment.)
• An Education Support/Lesson Plan, (regular reviews & feedback).
• Email Support for Parents.
All basic materials/resources and books provided
All Specialist materials/resources provided for the 2nd courses offered.
Exam practice materials supplied for 11+ – GCSEs & SATs
11+ Mock Exams scheduled from March each year.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation due to sickness: In the first instance of sickness, an alternative lesson will be
offered in the present month, or funds transferred over to the following monthly invoice – if
the sickness continues for another week and we do not receive 48 hours’ notice – a fee will be
charged.
If a lesson is cancelled without sickness/compassionate leave, a full fee will be charged.
Please discuss any changes to a particular lesson day/time in advance beforehand, we will
accommodate if we can.
• If a lesson is cancelled by the Tutor – an alternative lesson will be booked within the
month, if suitable or your payment returned or transferred.
We require fees to be paid One month in advance for full-time students – due on 1st – 5th of each month after Invoice received from Teach Works Totnes Tutors. Please ensure payment is made before the 5th of each month at the latest so resources are available for your child.
A full term of 3 months in advance is required for fortnightly or part-time students.
A new system of Direct Debit will be an option introduced in January.
In the event of consistent late payments – a payment of direct debit or standing order will be required to secure tuition bookings
Note: Reservation fees are booked at a cost of 1 month in advance with a 14-day cancellation
period on receipt of invoice in writing by email.
We require a 28 days’ notice for cancellation of contract – this payment will be required with
attendance or not. Note: (This does not include any holiday period).
Travel Costs: If lessons are taught at home – there is a travel/time cost of up to 5 miles @£5.00
Important changes to lessons can be negotiated with your tutor.
Note: Holidays during May and October half-term are optional. Bank holidays are
optional on agreement. Totnes Tutors are closed: Note – School term in the summer finishes at the end of July.
Easter Holiday – usual 2-weeks (at least 2 lessons to be attended in April)
Summer: July 30th – 3rd September. Payments are required up to the July 30th. (Summer School Lessons are open on a part/time basis for 11+ students or various continued education on agreement.)
Christmas: December – Usual Holidays (at least 3 lesson attended)
Revision lessons are available during summer holidays and can be arranged with your Tutor.
Policy Statement:
• All student information will be Confidential
• All students must be supervised by a parent or teacher
• Teachers and Support Teachers will carry a copy of a DBS at all times
• Parents must drop children off and pick them up on time, please call if there is a delay
• A suitable quiet space is required to be provided if taught at home with a parent or guardian present in the house at all times
