Supporting schools and helping parents with online tutoring during the pandemic

With schools doing all they can during these unprecedented times, I have been called upon to help – giving parents time to catch-up and switch-off.

Alternative education offers a creative approach, designed to allow your child time to process, grow and thrive despite the educational challenges that comes with this pandemic.

And my teaching style works as effectively online as in the classroom. Using Skype and Google Classroom, we can talk online using video and share papers and examples in real time. Also, lessons are recorded (CHECK) so pupils can use them for revision.

I also have a child with dyslexia, so understand the needs of children with learning disabilities. This is why I’d encourage any parent in the same position to get in touch. For some kids, anytime away from learning can have an emotional impact. I bring kids back into the classroom virtually, safely and tenderly.

And all the children I teach, enjoy the lessons because I effectively engage students in education while supporting their confidence and resilience.

Here are what parents of some of my past pupils have to say. Karen and Tony’s daughter was a pupil at Totnes Tutors. They said: “Anita has given our daughter lots more confidence and belief enabling her to feel more positive about school in general. A great investment in our child’s future.”

Helen and Gavin, who have an eight-year-old daughter studying with me said: “Anita has helped our daughter overcome some shyness. She has taken the time to find out favourite topics and uses our daughter’s interests within the learning to make it appealing.”

I tutor three students in the evenings and I still have a couple of sessions available. The sessions take place on Monday to Thursday from 3:30pm until 8pm and all day on Friday.

My courses include 11 Plus, Primary SATS to GCSE and AS/A Levels.  A free initial assessment for all parents is available to ascertain a successful way forward.
